Belzak, Ruth S.
Ruth S. Belzak, 84, of Utica died September 23, 2008 at the Presbyterian Home.
She was born April 18, 1924 in Clinton, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys Parke Spink. She graduated from Clinton High School and Utica College. She married John J. Belzak September 5, 1947 in Utica, he died in 1994.
Ruth was the Executive Secretary to several Presidents at Utica College.
She was a member of Plymouth-Bethesda United Church of Christ and was a volunteer with Hospice and Palliative Care and with the American Heart Association. She was a Literacy volunteer. After her retirement Ruth attend classes at Munson Williams Proctor Institute and became an avid painter
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James and Terry Belzak of Camillus, NY, her daughter Diane Rovou, New Hartford, her grandchildren Matthew Belzak of Arlington, VA, Miranda Rovou, New Hartford and Gregory Belzak, Camillus, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Marion Spink, Anne Mosher and Dorothy Madden and her grandson Jamie Rovou.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Presbyterian Home, Dr. Butala and his staff and to Dr. Chris Clark and his staff for all of the care given to Ruth.
The funeral will be on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday (today) from 4-7 PM.
