GINA GIONTA DEYO
Gina Gionta Deyo, beloved wife of Joseph Timothy Deyo, died peacefully in her home on November 12, 2008 surrounded by her family who loved her so much.
Gina was born on January 21, 1940 in Pittsburgh, Pa, the second of three daughters of Zemira and Italo Gionta. She and Tim met while both were teaching high school in Pittsburgh. She left teaching to become a full time mother and homemaker. Their daughters Adrienne and Christine were born in Pittsburgh before the family moved to Jackson, Mississippi where their son Michael was born. They moved to New Hartford in 1969.
Gina was a generous, warm, caring, compassionate woman who delighted in the company of her family and friends. She was honest to a fault, religious and died secure in the firm belief that she would be well received in heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In her early years in New Hartford she was actively engaged in the Junior League and later in the Friends of the New Hartford Library. An avid bridge player she will be deeply missed by her card playing companions.
Gina was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Sister Marie Dolores Gionta O.S.F. She is survived by her husband, her daughter Dr. Adrienne Bonham, and husband Eric of Pittsford, NY, her daughter Christine Martin and husband Kevin of New Hartford, her son Michael Deyo and wife Robyn of Richmond, VA, and her sister Joanne Paterno and husband Andrew of Hilton Head, S.C. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Danielle Deyo, Michael Cianfrocco, Erin Martin, Audrey and Mathew Bonham, and Sarah and Carly Deyo.

Gina was one of my "regulars" at the Lab. She was a very courageous lady and will be sadly missed. With Heartfelt Sympathy, Barbara

To the Deyo family,
We were saddened to hear of Mrs. Deyo's passing. Many of my fondest memories of growing up in New Hartford were spending time with your family. Mrs. Deyo could always be counted on to keep an eye on me for my mother (no small feat by the way). You are in our hearts and prayers.
